Guide To Understanding The Queue And How It Works
The Queue is your central hub for managing your social media posts.
Whether posts are scheduled, published, paused, or need adjustments, the Queue provides a clear view of their current status and helps you stay organized. Each section of the Queue categorizes your content based on where it is in the publishing process, and from here, you can take actions like reordering, editing, or troubleshooting.

What Is The Queue?
The Queue is an organized timeline of your social media posts, giving you a clear view of everything that's currently scheduled, published, or in need of attention. It’s split into several key sections, so you can quickly identify where each post stands in the publishing process.
You can access the Queue from the "Publish" section of SmarterQueue, alongside other essential tools like Categories and your Posting Plan.
What Actions Can I Take Within The Queue?
In the Queue, You Can:
View and Manage Scheduled Posts: Use the List or Week view to see posts scheduled for future publication. Sub-Queues help organize posts by Categories and Social Profiles, so you can easily identify where content is being posted and when.
Understanding Post Glyphs & Icons
The Queue displays various symbols and icons to help you quickly interpret post statuses, scheduling types, and special settings like Evergreen or Variations. These visual indicators provide at-a-glance insights into how each post is set to publish.
Filter and Rearrange Content:
Apply filters to narrow your view by social profile, Category, or content type, making it easy to focus on specific posts. You can also drag and drop posts to reorder them, ensuring the right content goes out at the right time.
Track Performance of Published Posts:
Once your posts are published, use the Published section of the Queue to monitor engagement metrics such as clicks, likes, and comments. For Evergreen content, you can review performance and make adjustments before it is recycled for future publishing.
Fix Issues with Posts:
SmarterQueue automatically flags posts that need attention, such as those without timeslots in the Posting Plan (in the Unqueued section) or posts that failed to publish. You can review and fix these issues to ensure your content is successfully published.
Pause or Resume Publishing:
When you need to temporarily stop posting for a specific Category or Social Profile, use the Paused section to keep track of these posts. You can unpause content with a few clicks to resume your publishing schedule.

What Are The Different Statuses In The Queue?
The Queue organizes your posts into several key sections:
Upcoming
This section contains all your scheduled posts waiting to be published. You can easily see what’s coming up next, reorder posts, or make edits before they go live. Whether posts are set to publish once or as part of your Evergreen schedule, you’ll find them here.

Published
Posts that have already been published appear here. If you’re using Evergreen content, posts will be automatically recycled and moved back into the Upcoming section for future publishing. You can also view engagement metrics like clicks, likes, shares, and comments.
Failed
The Failed section includes any posts that couldn’t be published due to errors, such as connection issues or restrictions on your account. SmarterQueue will notify you when a post fails, and you can review and resolve the issue directly from this section.
Paused
When you pause publishing for a specific Category or Social Profile, the posts that were scheduled for that time are moved to the Paused section. You can restart publishing this content by adjusting your Pause settings.

Drafts
Drafts are posts you’ve saved but haven’t finished scheduling yet. Whether you’re still editing or waiting for approval, all of your unfinished posts are stored here. You can easily edit, duplicate, schedule or delete drafts from this section.
Unqueued
Unqueued posts were created for specific Social Profiles and Category combinations that don’t have a Timeslot in the Posting Plan yet. These posts are waiting for you to add Timeslots so they can be published. You can edit or delete these posts if needed while they remain Unqueued.
Trash
This section temporarily stores any posts that you’ve manually trashed. You can restore or permanently delete posts from here. Keep in mind that once you permanently delete a post, it cannot be recovered.
