What Are Failed Posts?
Failed posts are those that SmarterQueue attempted to publish but encountered an error. Common reasons for failed posts include:
- Social profile connection issues: The account may be disconnected or require reauthorization.
- Platform restrictions: The post may violate the platform’s content policies or have unsupported media types.
- Missing permissions: Your social profile’s permissions may not allow SmarterQueue to post.
Failed posts are automatically moved to the Failed section of the Queue, where you can review and troubleshoot them.
What Are Unqueued Posts?
Unqueued posts are those created for a Category and Social Profile combination that doesn’t have any Timeslots assigned in the Posting Plan, leaving the post with no scheduled time for publication.
These posts are automatically moved to the Unqueued section of the Queue, waiting for you to assign Timeslots or make other adjustments.
How To Fix Failed Posts
To resolve failed posts:
- Check the error message: SmarterQueue provides specific error messages for each failed post. Review the message to understand the issue.
- Reconnect your social profile: If the error is related to a disconnected account, go to the Social Profiles page and reconnect the profile.
- Edit the post: If the post violates platform guidelines or has unsupported media, edit the content to meet the platform’s requirements.
- Retry publishing: Once the issue is resolved, retry publishing the post from the Failed section.

How To Resolve Unqueued Posts
To address unqueued posts:
- Check your Posting Plan: Ensure that the relevant Category and Social Profile combination has Timeslots assigned.
- Assign Timeslots: Add Timeslots to your Posting Plan for the missing combinations to ensure the post has a time to be scheduled.
- Manually schedule the post: If you don’t want to adjust your Posting Plan, you can manually set a date and time for the post.
- Edit the post: Make any necessary adjustments to the post if other details need to be updated before scheduling.
Common Questions
1. What happens to the next iteration of an Evergreen post if it fails?
Evergreen posts are sent back to the Queue to be published again only after being successfully published. If a post fails, it remains in the Failed section until the issue is resolved and the post is retried.
2. Why do posts fail to publish?
Posts can fail due to social profile disconnections, unsupported media formats, or platform restrictions. SmarterQueue will provide an error message explaining the specific issue.
3. What happens if I don’t resolve Unqueued posts?
If Unqueued posts aren’t addressed, they won’t appear in the Upcoming section and will remain unscheduled.
