Generate Images Using Canva’s “Text to Image” AI Tool
SmarterQueue’s Canva integration lets you use the Text to Image feature right inside the Post Editor, making it easy to generate custom AI visuals and add them directly to your posts.
- In the SmarterQueue Post Editor, click "Add Media".
- Select "Design with Canva".
- Choose a design size that matches your post type.
- In Canva, select the "Elements" tab from the left sidebar.
- In the search bar, type what you’d like to create (for example, sunset beach background or coffee cup on desk) and click the arrow icon to search. Canva will show existing assets that match your prompt, as well as a "Generate image" button.
- Click "Generate image" to create new AI-generated visuals based on your prompt.
- Wait a few seconds as Canva will display four generated images. These are typically square (1:1 ratio), even if you selected a vertical or horizontal canvas size.
- Click one of the generated images to add it to your design. You can resize or crop it to fit your layout.
- When you’re happy with the design, click "Add to Post" in the top-right corner to add the finished image to your post.
📝 Note: Canva’s AI image generation limits may vary depending on your plan. Free users receive a set number of monthly generations, while paid plans offer higher limits and additional AI features. For current details, visit canva.com.
Create Designs Automatically With Canva’s “Magic Design”
Canva’s Magic Design feature automatically creates complete, ready-to-edit designs that include text, images, and layout elements. While the Text to Image tool generates single visuals, Magic Design builds full templates you can customize to match your brand. Once your design is ready, upload it to SmarterQueue to use in your posts.
This feature is available on canva.com and not directly through SmarterQueue’s Canva integration.
- Go to canva.com/magic-design and sign in to your Canva account.
- In the text box, describe what you want to create - for example, “summer sale announcement,” “motivational quote,” or “new product launch post.”
- Canva will generate a single design automatically based on your description. If you’d like a different result, click "Regenerate" to see a new design option.
- Customize the text, images, and colors as needed.
- When you’re happy with your design, click "Share" → "Download".
- Choose PNG or JPG as the format.
- Click “Download” to save your design to your device.
- To use your new design, upload it to the Media Library for later, or open the Post Editor, select "Add Media" → "Upload from Computer", and choose your downloaded file to attach it to a post.
Add Voiceovers Using Canva’s “Text to Speech” AI Tool
Canva’s Text to Speech tool makes it easy to turn written text into realistic voiceovers and instantly create videos from your designs. With short-form video continuing to dominate social media, this is a simple way to produce engaging content without recording or editing footage yourself. Once your video is ready, you can easily upload it to SmarterQueue to schedule and share it across your platforms.
This feature is available on canva.com and not through SmarterQueue’s built-in Canva integration.
Go to canva.com and open an existing video design or create a new one.
You can also start with a still image, and turn it into a short video by adding a voiceover.
- In the top menu, click "Apps", then select "AI Voice" (also listed as Text to Speech in some versions).
- Type or paste your script into the text box.
- Choose your voice and language from the dropdown menu.
- Click "Generate Voice" to create the audio.
- Drag the voiceover onto your video timeline to sync it with your visuals.
