How To Create Content With The AI Assistant

The AI Assistant provides a flexible way to create high-quality text, whether you’re writing from scratch or improving an existing caption.

1. Choose A Prompt

Prompts are grouped into categories to help you choose what kind of help you need — whether you want to create new content or improve something you’ve already written.

You’ll find options such as:

  • Social Media Posts – to generate full captions or new ideas from scratch.
  • Questions Or Hooks – to grab attention or start conversations.
  • Quotes Or Tips – to share inspiration or advice.

Select a prompt that best fits your goal. You can edit it or write your own custom prompt from the start for more control.

2. Customize Your Settings

Next, adjust the settings to guide how the AI Assistant generates your content.

Each option adds more direction to your chosen prompt, helping the AI tailor results to your style and audience:

  • Platform – adapts your text’s tone, style, and length to suit the selected platform. The available options may adjust automatically based on the social profiles you’ve chosen for the post and whether you’re customizing content per profile.
  • Tone – defines how your content sounds (for example: friendly, professional, witty, or persuasive).
  • Language – generates text in any supported language to match your audience.
  • Hashtags & Emojis – automatically include or exclude these elements in your results.
  • Number of Variations – choose how many pieces of content you want the AI to generate at once, using the same prompt and settings (for example, 3 or 5).

📝 Note: For tips on getting the best results, see "How To Write Better Prompts For The AI Assistant".

3. Generate Your Content

Click "Generate" to create your results.

The AI Assistant will display multiple options for you to review. Each suggestion is editable, so you can tweak, shorten, or combine ideas directly in the panel.

💡 Tip: Review your results to see which captions align best with your brand voice. Once you’ve found one that’s close, you can refine it further using the AI Assistant’s built-in tools.

How To Refine Or Re-Generate Results

If simple edits aren’t enough, the AI Assistant can help you rework, rephrase, or completely regenerate your captions for new ideas. You can refine individual captions or refresh the entire set to find the best results.

Refine Individual Captions

Each generated caption includes an "AI" button at the bottom with additional options to:

  • "Re-Generate" – create a fresh version of that specific caption using the same prompt.
  • "Rewrite" – change the phrasing while keeping the same meaning.
  • "Make Shorter" or "Make Longer" – adjust the caption length while maintaining tone and context.

đź’ˇ Tip: Refining is ideal when a caption feels close to what you want, but not quite there. It lets you perfect the length or phrasing without having to start over.

Re-Generate All Captions

If you’d like a completely new set of ideas:

  • Click "Re-Generate" at the bottom of the AI Assistant to create a new batch using the same prompt and settings.
  • Or click "Back" to adjust your prompt or settings, then select "Generate" again to apply your changes.

đź’ˇ Tip: Use different tones or platforms to explore how the same idea can feel across audiences.

How To Add The Content To Your Post

When you’re happy with your results, you can add them directly to your post.

To add individual captions:

  • Click "Add" next to any result to send it straight to your post caption field.

To add multiple captions at once:

  • Use "Select All" or "Unselect All" at the top to manage selections quickly.
  • Use the checkboxes beside each caption to select the ones you want to include.
  • Click "Add [#] Captions" at the bottom to insert all selected results at once.

All selected captions are added automatically to your main post caption.

When you add more than one, the Post Editor creates separate text boxes, enabling text variations and automatically turning on Evergreen Post Recycling for your post.

If you’re customizing per profile and have expanded a specific profile, you’ll see two options when adding captions: “Add to expanded profile” and “Add to all profiles”.

If you generated text for another field (such as First Comments, Snippets, or Titles), copy the text manually from the AI Assistant and paste it into the relevant box.

📝 Note: When multiple results are added, SmarterQueue automatically creates text variations for your post. Learn how to view and manage them in "Vary Media And Captions To Keep Your Content Fresh"

Always Review AI-Generated Content

Before publishing, always review your AI-generated text to make sure it fits your brand and audience.

Take a moment to confirm that your caption:

  • Matches your brand voice and overall tone.
  • Includes only accurate and verified information.
  • Reads naturally for the platform and audience you’re posting to.

While the AI Assistant aims to produce relevant, high-quality text, results may sometimes include outdated details or interpret prompts differently than intended, especially if the request is broad or lacks context.

Reviewing and editing ensure that your captions remain factually correct and aligned with your intended message.

The AI Assistant is designed to save time and spark new ideas — but you’re the final editor.

Personalize, fact-check, and adjust every caption before scheduling or publishing your post.
