What Are X/Twitter Credits?

SmarterQueue uses X/Twitter Credits to manage publishing to X/Twitter. This allows us to continue supporting the platform while keeping our plans affordable despite the ongoing cost of X/Twitter's API.

Every SmarterQueue account includes a monthly allowance of X/Twitter Credits at no additional cost.

How X/Twitter Credits Work

The number of X/Twitter Credits used depends on whether your post contains a link.

Post type Credits used
X/Twitter post without a URL 1 credit
X/Twitter post containing a URL 15 credits

Your included X/Twitter Credits reset every month on your normal billing anniversary. Unused credits don't roll over to the following month.

You can track your remaining X/Twitter Credits, usage, and reset date at any time in โš™๏ธ Organization Settings > Subscription Management.

Why do posts with links use more credits?

X/Twitter charges significantly more to publish posts containing links through their API. Charging different amounts for different post types allows us to continue supporting X/Twitter while keeping SmarterQueue plans affordable.

What Happens If You Don't Have Enough X/Twitter Credits?

If you don't have enough X/Twitter Credits available, SmarterQueue won't publish the post, and no X/Twitter Credits will be used.

What happens next depends on how the post was scheduled.

Queued posts

If the post is scheduled to publish through your Posting Plan, SmarterQueue will automatically postpone it until the next available Timeslot and try to publish it again later.

You'll receive a notification letting you know that some queued X/Twitter posts have been delayed because there weren't enough X/Twitter Credits available.

Scheduled and Recurring posts

Posts scheduled for a specific date and time, including Recurring posts, will fail to publish if there aren't enough X/Twitter Credits available.

You'll receive the normal failed publishing notification. After adding more X/Twitter Credits, you can republish or reschedule the post.

Post Now

If you choose Post Now and don't have enough X/Twitter Credits, the post won't be published. You'll see a message explaining that there aren't enough X/Twitter Credits available and can try again after adding more credits.

Note: Failed publish attempts and postponed queued posts never consume X/Twitter Credits. Credits are only deducted after a post is successfully published.

Purchasing Additional X/Twitter Credits

If you regularly publish more X/Twitter posts than your included monthly allowance covers, you can purchase additional X/Twitter Credits at any time.

Additional X/Twitter Credits are available as an optional add-on on the Pricing Page. Because X/Twitter Credits cover third-party API costs, they are purchased separately from your SmarterQueue subscription and aren't included in subscription discounts.

๐Ÿ“ Note: For step-by-step directions on upgrading with add-ons, see our article on how to Change Your SmarterQueue Plan Or Billing Cycle.
