What’s New In Creating Posts?
We're excited to introduce the much-anticipated feature you've all been asking for - extensive per-profile customization options now available in the Post Editor.
You can now tailor captions, links, media, text and media variations, post timing, and Evergreen recycling settings for each of your selected social profiles!
Let's explore how it works! ✨ To get started, simply access the Post Editor.
As part of our continuous commitment to improving and simplifying your experience, you can now conveniently access the Post Editor in the upper-right corner under "New Post".
Once open, the Post Editor will allow you to start creating content however you want. While Category and Social Profile(s) selections are still required, you no longer have to start there.
Note: Keep in mind that to fully unlock the cross-customization capabilities, you should choose a minimum of two social profiles and then activate the "Customize per profile" toggle. This will enable you to craft entirely distinct posts for each selected profile.
As you embark on your content creation journey, you'll come across some familiar options that have been strategically repositioned to elevate your post-creation experience and emphasize the core elements:
- To add a text variation, you’ll click “Add variation” in the bottom left corner of the text box.
- To add a First Comment, you’ll click “Add comment” in the bottom left corner.
- The character count is now located in the bottom right corner of the text box.
- The Snippet clipboard is now displayed as a speech bubble with a pound sign (#) in the bottom right corner.
- The emoji keyboard is also located in the bottom right corner.
Note: The “Add comment” button does not appear until you have selected at least one eligible profile: Facebook Page, Instagram Creator or Business Profile, LinkedIn personal profile, or LinkedIn Company Page.
And rest assured, we haven't forgotten about media variations. You can easily include additional media variations once you've added a minimum of two media elements to your post!
Right underneath your added media, you'll see the option to choose between "Multi-media Post" and "One image/video per cycle”. Vary images or video components to keep your content fresh or A/B test what’s working best for your audience.
Next, you’ll notice that the post Timing and Evergreen recycling settings have moved to the right-hand side, where the Preview Pane used to be.
No worries, the Preview Pane is still here for you. As you work on your post, a simple click on the Preview tab located on the right-hand side will display what the posts will look like once published on all of your selected platforms.
We’ve also moved the link settings, to make sure they’re easily accessible. For the Legacy Post Editor, you might recall a "Link Settings" tab situated on the right-hand side.
Now, to manage your link settings, you can simply select the "Edit" option within the link bar.
This action will open a pop-up window encompassing all the necessary settings.
With the post Timing and Evergreen settings section now on the right-hand side, you can effortlessly tailor your publishing settings preferences for each of the selected social profiles individually, while crafting your posts on the left.
Rest assured, you’ll continue to enjoy all of the power scheduling capabilities you're familiar with - you can still post your content right away, add it to the top or bottom of the Queue to publish it based on the Timeslots in the Posting Plan, schedule it to one or multiple specific dates and times, or set it up as recurring to be published based on a specific repeat cycle.
In the new and improved Post Editor, you’ll find the options available as follows:
- "Use Posting Plan" (formerly “Add to Queue”) remains your main queued scheduling option, as it continues to offer you amazing set-and-forget automation that continues to revolutionize social media publishing while saving you a great deal of time;
- The new “Date & Time” button consolidates all other more specific scheduling functions, like “Post Now”, “Set Date & Time”, and “Recurring”.
And last, but not least, set your posts as Evergreen (by activating the “Evergreen Recycle” toggle) and benefit from the engagement boost that recycling your best content ensures.
And to make sure you have more control over your publishing, we've given the Evergreen recycling feature additional options! 💪
Note: Check out "Evergreen Recycling: What's New?" for more information.
Lastly, you may notice that there is no AI Caption Writer in the new Post Editor. While it is not available for now, we are working hard to bring it over very soon!

How To Add A Post
Let’s take a detailed, step-by-step look at creating amazing content in our brand-new and enhanced Post Editor!
1. Click “New Post” on the right-hand side.
2. Pick a Category from the “Select Category” dropdown.
3. Then choose the social profiles for your post from the “Select Profiles” dropdown.

Note: If you are (also) posting to an Instagram account, you will be able to select if your Instagram Post is meant to be sent to your Feed/Reels or as a Story.
Note: Publishing to Instagram varies based on the type of post you create and the type of Instagram profile you're scheduling for (Personal, Creator, or Business). For profiles and posts that are eligible for direct publishing, you can select "Attempt Direct Publish". Otherwise, the posts will publish via the mobile notification workflow. Note: While TikTok is not currently available, we're working hard to bring it over to the New SmarterQueue in the near future 🚧
Note: If you're (also) posting to a Pinterest account, you'll have to also select the board you're sending your post to. For all other social channels, you can get straight down the crafting your Post Text!
4. Add your caption in the text box.
Note: Easily create text variations to keep your Evergreen content fresh for longer by clicking the “Add variation” button in the bottom left.
If you are (also) posting to a Pinterest board, then you'll have the option to add a Title for your Pin.
You can also use the title box if you're uploading a video post to Facebook.
If you're adding a link to your post, simply paste it into the text box! A new “Link” section will appear underneath where you can click “Edit” to adjust your link settings, or “Remove” if you need to delete the link from the post.
💡 Tip: Use Snippets or Emojis for a personal touch.
5. Add your media by clicking the “Add Media” button.
There are 5 ways to add media to your posts in the Post Editor:
- Upload images or videos from your computer.
- Add posts from your "Media Library" in your SmarterQueue account.
- Use “Find Free Images” to search Pixabay and Unsplash for royalty-free, professional-grade images or Giphy for GIFs.
- Use “Paste from URL” if your image is on a public website and you have the link for it.
- If you have a Canva account, you can design and download your graphics within SmarterQueue
Note: Check out "Using Your Enhanced Media Library" to see all the new amazing options we've made available with the New SmarterQueue.
Note: You can create media variations by adding multiple photos/videos! Once you’ve added two pieces of media, the option to select “one image/video per cycle” will appear and your post will now show a different media every time it’s published.
6. Preview your post by clicking on the “Preview” tab to ensure it looks exactly how you want it to appear.
7. Returning to the "Timing" section, you have the option to select your preferred scheduling method for the post. SmarterQueue offers various ways to schedule your content.
The simplest approach is to opt for "Use Posting Plan", to publish your post according to the Timeslots in your Posting Plan, taking advantage of automation to save time.
Alternatively, pick exactly when you'd like your content to be posted using one of the options under “Date & Time”:
- Publish the post right away with “Post Now”.
- Pick one or multiple specific dates and times for the post under “Set Date & Time”.
- Choose the initial posting date and time for your content, as well as a repeat interval for iterations of the post with “Recurring”.
💡 Tip: If you want to save the post as a Draft, click the “Active” dropdown and select “Draft”. The post will be saved to your "Post Library" where you can work on it later.
See "Using The New Post Library" for more information on the "Post Library".
8. After setting your post timing, it's time to determine your Evergreen settings. You can decide whether you want the post to be recycled or posted only once.
If you choose to enable Evergreen recycling, you can also decide if you want the post to expire after a date or after a certain number of times published.
💡 Tip: Once published, your Evergreen content will be rescheduled for the earliest Timeslot available based on your “Minimum Time to Recycle” in Settings.
Check out "Evergreen Recycling: What's New?" for more information on how the Evergreen feature has been improved!
9. Once done, click “Save Post” in the bottom right corner to save the post to your Queue.
