How to Find and Import Content From Social Profiles You Don’t Own

Find Posts

  • Navigate to the Discover section in the top menu, then select Find Content.
  • Use the dropdown menu to select the social platform where you want to find content – supported platforms include Facebook Pages and Instagram Creator/Business Profiles.
  • Search for a public profile:
    • Enter the name of the Facebook Page or Instagram Business Profile you want to import from, then select it from the search results. 
    • Additionally, for Instagram, you can search for posts your profiles were tagged in.
  • Filter and sort content to find relevant posts:
    • Keyword Search: Find posts containing specific words.
    • Sorting Options: Sort by Latest, Most Liked, or Most Commented.
    • Content Type: Filter by images, videos, or links.

Import Posts

  • Click Share next to the post you want to add to your Queue.
  • Choose whether to share the full post or just available components, such as the image or link. This will open the Post Editor with the selected content prefilled.
  • Choose the Category and Social Profiles you will publish the post for. 
  • Make any edits you need in the Post Editor and schedule your post for publishing.

Common Questions

1. Why can’t I import content from some profiles?

API restrictions prevent importing content from personal Instagram accounts or Facebook Groups, as well as other social media platforms entirely.

2. How far back can I import posts from a profile?

Facebook’s API allows you to import content as far back as the last 100 posts or up to 2 years, while Instagram only allows importing posts from the last 24 months. Older posts won’t appear in search results.

3. Why do some posts appear missing when I search?

Some profiles may have privacy settings that restrict access to their content. Some pages may restrict access by location or require login authentication. Additionally, posts that were deleted or archived by the original poster won’t be available for import.

4. Can I import Stories or Reels?

No, SmarterQueue can only import regular image feed posts from Facebook Pages and Instagram Creator/Business Profiles. Stories and Reels are not available at this time.
