X (Twitter) Error: How To Solve Common Error Messages

Missing Required Parameter: Status / No Status Found with that ID / Status Not Found

The tweet that you included in a reply or retweeted no longer is at this location (if it existed, it was probably deleted). 

🛠 To resolve: Simply remove the post that references the deleted tweet.


Tweet needs to be a bit shorter / Tweet Too Long

Your tweet needs to be 280 characters, less if you include a link or an image. 

🛠 To resolve: Try shortening your text a bit and then retry.


Twitter media upload failed – invalid API response / Validation of Media IDs Failed / Media ID Not Found

Twitter did not receive the image or video that you uploaded, possibly due to a server or network traffic error. 

🛠 To resolve: Simply retry the post at a different time.


Invalid or expired token

Your access token has expired. 

🛠 To resolve: Log into your X (Twitter) profile, then reconnect it in SmarterQueue and try again.


Internal error 

Twitter has had some type of unspecified error on its end. 

🛠 To resolve: Retry the post. If the issue persists, make sure you are logged into the correct X (Twitter) profile, and reconnect it from SmarterQueue.

X (Twitter) has misidentified your Tweet as a spam posting. 

🛠 To resolve: Rewrite your post and try again a little later. If this continues to occur, you may need to file a support request with X (Twitter) and/or wait a few days and try again.


Account Temporarily Locked

X (Twitter) has misidentified your Tweet as a spam posting.

Duplicate Status / Status Is A Duplicate / Twitter posts with the same text and video can not be posted simultaneously / Retweet Already / You have already retweeted this tweet

If you see a "Whoops, you already said that" error message when you post a Tweet, you've posted the exact same text in another Tweet recently and should try writing something new in your next Tweet.

🛠 To resolve: 

  • Try posting a different Tweet.
  • If you never post the exact same text or media in Tweets you'll never get this error.
  • Try using our Variations feature to vary the text and media that you are using.

Image file size must be <= 5242880 bytes

Your image needs to be resized or lessened in resolution to create a smaller file size. 

🛠 To resolve: Resize your image and retry the tweet with the updated image.


Image dimensions must be >= 4x4 and <= 8192x8192

Your image needs to be resized to be uploaded to X (Twitter).
