When Will I Need To Reconnect A Social Profile?
Reconnect your Social Profile if:
- You've updated the username or icon for a social network;
- You've changed your password;
- A post has failed because your profile needs to be reconnected;
- You have converted your Personal/Creator Instagram Profile to a Business Profile;
- Your Access Token has expired or is invalid.
How To Reconnect Your Social Profiles
1. Click on the "Settings" gear icon (âš™) at the top right of your SmarterQueue account, and navigate to the "Social Profiles" page.
2. Click on the 3-dot menu for the Profile you want to refresh.
3. Select "Reconnect Profile". This will prompt you to sign in to your Social Profile.
- After you sign in, the name and icon of the Profile will then refresh in SmarterQueue.
📝 Note: Your Social Profiles may become disconnected for several reasons. If we detect this happening, we will move the profile under "Disconnected Profiles" and also show a "Reconnect" button for it. This way, you'll know of the issue and will be able to quickly fix it.
📝Note: When reconnecting Facebook Pages or Instagram Creator/Business profiles, we recommend granting full permissions to all your Pages and profiles, not just the one you’re reconnecting. Granting only partial access can cause publishing errors or revoke access to other profiles due to known API bugs. Full permissions ensure your connections stay stable and make it easier to manage or add additional profiles in the future.

1. Do I need to reconnect my social profile if I change its name or username?
Yes. If you’ve changed the name or username of a social profile, you’ll need to reconnect it in SmarterQueue to keep your scheduled posts publishing as expected.
2. Will I lose the posts in my Queue if I change the name of my Social Profile?
No - your posts will remain safe in your Queue! However, changing a profile name invalidates the connection token, so you’ll need to reconnect the profile to refresh the connection and update the name inside SmarterQueue. Once reconnected, your posts will continue publishing as planned 🎉
