Pinterest Error: Spam

Pinterest sometimes blocks profiles from performing certain actions, particularly if they believe the account to be spamming, or has been posting content that may run afoul of the Pinterest Community Guidelines.

You May See One Of Several Errors

  • Rate Limit Exceeded
  • Link Blocked
  • Our security systems have detected that a lot of people are posting the same content, which could mean that it's spam. Please try a different post.

What To Do If Your Account Gets Blocked?

This depends on whether your Pinterest Profile was blocked by Pinterest, or if your SmarterQueue account was blocked due to how you're publishing to your connected Pinterest profiles.

Here is what you should do:

  1. You may receive a message from Pinterest, indicating that your profile is suspended. If this happens, you would need to resolve this issue with the platform directly, as we have no control over this block at SmarterQueue.
  2. If one of your posts triggers our spam prevention algorithms within SmarterQueue, you will see it come up in your Failed Posts, along with a notification indicating whether you were posting duplicate content, or posting too frequently. This is considered a spam strike, and on your third you will be notified that your account has been locked. You'll need to review your publishing schedule and make changes to avoid the spam strike triggers - check here for more guidance on this. Next, contact us with details of the changes you've made and, upon review, our support team will be able to unlock your account.
