What’s New In Adding And Removing Social Profiles?

Kickstart your experience with our revamped approach to social profile management, elevating convenience to the next level.

Introducing your new "Social Profiles" center within "Settings" – a singular, intuitive destination for seamlessly managing all your social media connections with ease.

Here, you can effortlessly add or remove an array of social profiles.

Just as you're already used to, SmarterQueue supports Facebook Pages, all Instagram profile types (Personal, Creator, and Business), X (Twitter), LinkedIn Personal Profiles and Company Pages, Pinterest, and the influential Google Business Profiles đź’Ş

You may notice the familiar symbol to add a Bitly profile is missing from the new "Social Profiles" hub. No need to worry, as Bitly is still available for your link shortening and tracking needs.

Recognizing the need for a more coherent user experience, we made a mindful shift. We’ve consolidated all Bitly and Google Analytics options, under the "Link Tracking" section, thus transitioning away from "Social Profiles".

This move ensures a seamless and intuitive journey and allows you to effortlessly manage all your connections.

How To Add A Social Profile

The steps to connect your social profiles to SmarterQueue are just as you remember them.

That said, here’s how they work with the new and improved interface, to ensure you're equipped to navigate this new landscape with confidence 💪

1. Click the gear icon in the top right corner of your SmarterQueue dashboard and select “Social Profiles”.

2. Make sure you’re logged into the social profile you’d like to connect inside your browser, then simply click on the "Connect" button for the type of social profile you're adding to SmarterQueue, under "Connect Profiles".

Follow the on-screen prompts, and make sure to allow all permissions, if asked.

How To Connect A Facebook Page

  • Make sure you’re logged in as the Facebook Profile that is an admin of the Page you're looking to add, then simply click on the "Connect" button for Facebook and select "Connect Facebook Page".
  • Click on "Edit access" to ensure all necessary permissions are granted.

  • Make sure all toggles are enabled to grant full permissions and avoid errors in using your Pages with SmarterQueue (granular permissions can cause issues using your Facebook Page with SmarterQueue due to Facebook API issues).

  • Scroll back up and click "X" from the top right.

  • Then click "Continue as" to be redirected back to SmarterQueue.

  • Select the Pages you want to connect to SmarterQueue

Note: For any subsequent Pages you add, you will see a screen confirming that you've previously granted permissions (including a link if you want to edit the permissions you have granted) and then you will be able to select the Page(s) you want to add to SmarterQueue.


How To Connect A Personal Instagram Profile

  • Make sure you’re logged in to the correct profile on Instagram, then simply click on the "Connect" button for Instagram.
  • Scroll down to ensure permission toggles are enabled, then click "Allow".

Note: Personal Instagram Profiles will show a generic profile image - this is normal. If you'd like to be able to see your profile image, directly publish content, and see more in-depth analytics for your Instagram Profile, then you'll need to convert your Personal Profile to a Creator/Business Profile and connect it via a Facebook Page.


How To Connect A Creator/Business Instagram Profile

  • Make sure you're logged into the Business/Creator Profile on Instagram, then simply click on the "Connect" button for Instagram.
  • Scroll down to ensure permission toggles are enabled, then click "Allow".

  • You'll be asked if you want to take also enable direct publishing at this stage. We recommend that you do so by clicking "Continue to Facebook".

  • To directly publish to Business/Creator Profiles, they'll need to be connected "Via Facebook". Make sure that your profile is connected to Facebook Page natively.

  • Click "Continue As" to grant Meta permissions for the Instagram profile and the connected Facebook Page.


How To Connect A LinkedIn Profile

As long as you're logged in to the LinkedIn Profile natively, pressing on the "Connect" button for LinkedIn will add it right away. 

If not, you will be redirected to LinkedIn and asked to enter your credentials to add the LinkedIn profile to SmarterQueue first. As soon as you correctly enter your credentials and log in, the profile will be connected to SmarterQueue right away.


How To Connect A LinkedIn Company Page

  • Make sure you’re logged in as the LinkedIn Profile that is an admin of the Company Page you're looking to add, then simply click on the "Connect" button for LinkedIn and select "Connect LinkedIn Company Page".
  • Select the Company Page(s) that you want to connect and click “Connect Selected”.


How To Connect An X (Twitter) Profile

  • Make sure you’re logged in to the correct profile on X (Twitter), then simply click on the "Connect" button for X (Twitter).
  • Click "Authorize App" to give SmarterQueue permission to connect to the profile.


How To Connect A Google Business Profile

  • Make sure you’re logged in to the Google account that manages the Google Business profile(s) you’d like to connect inside your browser, then simply click on the "Connect" button for '"Google".   
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to select your Google account:

  • And then to allow all permissions, if asked:

  • Select the profile(s) you want to add to SmarterQueue from the list and press "Add".

How To Connect A Pinterest Profile

  • Make sure you’re logged in to the correct profile on Pinterest, then simply click on the "Connect" button for Pinterest.
  • Click "Give Access", to give SmarterQueue permission to connect to the profile.


How To Remove A Connected Social Profile

Disconnecting a profile from your SmarterQueue account can be done in a few quick and easy steps 🎉

1. Click the gear icon (⚙) in the top right corner of your SmarterQueue dashboard and select “Social Profiles”.

2. Click the three-dot menu for the profile you want to remove and choose “Remove Profile”.

Note: When you remove a profile, you will lose all posts for that Profile, as well as their analytics. Remove profiles with care!

3. In the dialogue box that appears, click the red button “Remove Profile” to confirm


Common Questions

1. Can I use the same Social Profile with two different SmarterQueue accounts?

SmarterQueue has been designed to allow social profiles to be added to only one SmarterQueue account at a time.

2. Can I have multiple profiles for the same social platform?

Absolutely! You are not limited to one profile per platform. For example, you could have an account with 2 Instagram profiles and 5 Facebook Pages. That said, each one of your profiles/pages will count towards your subscription’s social profile limit.

3. How can I replace a profile with a different one?

If you are under your plan limit for profiles, you can add your new profile without deleting anything.

However, if you’re at your plan profile limit, you will need to remove the profile you want to replace by following the steps above before connecting your new profile.

In this instance, we recommend upgrading.

If you want to keep your posts and analytics for the profile you want to remove, please contact us.

4. Can I recover my posts from a deleted Profile?

If you unintentionally delete a profile, all may not be lost! Please contact us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to restore everything (profile connection, posts, Timeslots, etc.).

5. Why isn't the profile picture showing for my Instagram account?

If the profile picture isn't showing for your Instagram account, this means that it is a Personal Instagram Profile and thus shows a generic image.

If you'd like the profile picture to populate, be able to publish content directly, and see more in-depth analytics for your Instagram Profile, then you'll need to convert your Personal Profile to a Business or Creator Profile and connect it via a Facebook Page. đź’Ş
